Pinellas County Under Tighter Water Restrictions

Phase IV water restrictions went into effect on March 31 for all of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties, according to an announcement from the Southwest Water Management District. The restrictions are for April 3 to June 30. Lawn watering continues to be restricted to one day per week, allowed from midnight to 4 a.m. for properties smaller than 1 acre using an in-ground irrigation system. For those using a sprinkling can, hand-held hose with automatic shut-off nozzle, or a portable sprinkler, watering is allowed from 6 to 8 a.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. Aesthetic fountains and other water features are now prohibited. Residential car washing is now prohibited. Charity car washes are now prohibited. Commercial car wash operations are allowed. Residents using private well water remain under the Phase III restrictions.
